THE CLASS OF 1944

EDWARDSVILLE, ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL

I was a member of the class of 1944 and although I was serving in the United States Army at the time  of  graduation I had earned the necessary credentials to receive my diploma.

The Class of 1944 held its 60th Reunion in October 2004.  I do not know the exact number attending but it was larger than I expected it to be.  Because we are getting up in age, it was decided that we would try to meet on the second Friday in October of each year.

The 66th Reunion was held at MERIDIAN VILLAGE on Route 157, EDWARDSVILLE on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2010.  There were members from Arkansas and Indiana present that I know of. We hope that more of  the classmates can be attending but we realize all of us are at the age where this is not always possible. After the attendees enjoyed a ‘happy hour’ and renewed friendships with their former classmates, Norm Nillsson, Chairman of the Reunion Committee, welcomed all attending. The gathering then feasted on a meal consisting of a dinner salad, Au Gratin potatoes, fried chicken, roast pork, green beans, dinner rolls, beverage, and a dessert. An enjoyable time was spent by all.  Our thanks to the committee for all their work in making this possible.
